How to Make Cake Mix Cookie Recipe
Cherry Chip Cookies
First, set the oven to 350 degrees. Use parchment paper to line a baking sheet, set aside.
Secondly, add the cherry chip cake mix eggs, oil, and vanilla into a large mixing bowl, and combine with a fork or mixer.
Using a cookie scoop, create dough balls of the cookie dough and arrange on to the prepared baking pan, about 2-inches apart.
For scoops sizes small, medium or large will depend on how long to bake cookies.
- 1 tablespoon cookies: 8-10 minutes
- 2 tablespoon cookies: 10-12 minutes
- ¼ cup or large cookie scoop cookies: 14-16 minutes
Next, place the cookies into the oven according to cookie sizes above, or until they just begin to turn a light brown. Make sure not to overbake.
Finally, take the cookies out of the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet, while you make the glaze.
Cherry Chip Glaze
To start, add the cherries and juice into a food processor or blender and blend the strawberries to a puree, or leave larger chunks.
Next, combine the cherry mixture and powdered sugar until smooth. And, if the glaze is too thin, you can add a bit more of the powdered sugar, and if it’s too thick, just add more juice or water.
Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and top with the cherry glaze.
How to Store Cherry Cookies
To refrigerate or room temperature, store cookies in an airtight container will keep them moist and fresh for 3 days at room temperature, longer if stored in the fridge.

To freeze the dough, place the balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 1-2 hours, or until the dough balls are completely frozen. Once frozen, transfer the dough to freezer-safe zipper bags. When ready to bake, simply bake as many of the cookies as you need from frozen. You may need to increase the baking time by 1-2 minutes.
