If you want to make fresh whipped cream, whip up 3 cups of heavy cream and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar until you get stiff peaks to replace the store-bought whipped cream.

How to Make Easy Shortcut Hazelnut Brownies!

Love shortcuts!  So, trifles can be a little time-consuming, so we used a boxed brownie shortcut and baked some of our favorite boxed Pillsbury’s Milk Chocolate Brownies.  To make them hazelnut worthy, I roughly chopped one candy bar up and added it in the batter.  Then again, roughly chopped up another bar and sprinkled it on top of the brownies and baked them in a 9×13 pan.  Easy & Delish!

These decked out brownies are sinful all by themselves!!  Make a batch and see! You’ll love the flavors!

More Options

  • Place some Ferrero Rocher Chocolates on top of the trifle on chop up pieces and add to the brownies or in the mousse!
  • You can switch out the hazelnut mousse with a chocolate pudding and whipped cream combo, if you don’t have Nutella.
  • Don’t have boxed brownies?  You can use this homemade Nutella brownie recipe or substitute chocolate cake for the brownies. You can also add some chocolate chips to your brownies or cake for some extra chocolate flavor!
  • If you’re not a fan of milk chocolate brownies, feel free to opt for dark chocolate brownies.  Either way, super yummy!
  • Want some crunch?  Add some extra hazelnuts to your trifle, either in the brownies or when you’re layering the trifle layers.
