  • Place chocolate chips, chocolate melts or almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. Add shortening or oil. Heat chocolate chips in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
  • Spread chocolate into an even layer on the prepared pan using a rubber spatula or a spoon to spread into an even 1/4-inch thick layer.
  • Top with desired toppings.
  • Chill to set then break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days to 2 weeks.  Some toppings may not last as long when it comes to pretzels or cookies, as they can get stale.

So…Here’s Our 4 Holiday Chocolate Bark Recipes

Peppermint Bark

  • Start by melting dark chocolate, followed by a white chocolate, then sprinkle chopped candy canes or peppermint crunch on top. Add some colorful sprinkles if desired!
  • Make sure not to let the dark layer get too cold before adding the white chocolate layer, this creates too much of a separation between the layers.
  • With double layered barks on top of each other, allow the candy to come to room temperature before before trying to cut or break the bark. This gives the chocolate a chance to settle and come together instead of separating.
