Lemons – 2-3 lemons for 1/2 cup lemon juice. Use 1 tablespoon of lemon zest for an additional lemon boost of flavor! Zest the lemons before you juice lemons. To juice lemons, I love my lemon juicer to get really fresh lemon flavor when cooking and baking. You can also decorate with lemon slices, wedges or zest!
Sweetened Condensed Milk – When you add sweetened condensed milk to the recipe, you know it’s going to be a hit! Sweetened condensed milk provides a concentrated creaminess and sweet, milky flavor in the filling and also serves as a thickener. I like using Eagle Brand, plus they have a fat-free version if you want to cut down on the calories!
Whipped cream – Whipped cream gives this pie it’s creaminess and lightness that you would expect in this kind of pie. And, TBH I have to add more whipped topping to the top of the pie! - Cool-whip, thawed or you could make your own whipped cream or use Dream Whip to replace the Cool-Whip
- Optional, 1 tablespoon lemon zest
