Ingredients You Need For Easy Strawberry Cobbler Recipe
Strawberry Mixture
- 3 ½ to 4 cups fresh ripe strawberries, hulled & quartered (can also use frozen)
- granulated sugar
Cobbler Mixture
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt
- granulated sugar
- milk of choice, warm (I used almond milk, could also use buttermilk)
- vanilla extract
- unsalted butter, melted & cooled
How to Make The Best Fresh Homemade Strawberry Cobbler
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9 inch pan.
- Melt butter and let it cool down (for the cobbler crust), while you start prepping for the strawberry and cobbler mixtures.
Strawberry Mixture
- Toss together the fresh strawberries and sugar well with a spoon. Mixture should become a little syrupy. Set aside.
Cobbler Mixture
- In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Add in the warm milk, vanilla extract, and cooled, melted butter and gently stir until combined without over-mixing so the cobbler crust comes out fluffy and not rubbery or dense-like. Lumps in the mixture are ok!
- Pour batter evenly into the prepared dish.
- Spoon strawberries evenly on top of the batter. I added in the syrup too, just drizzled it on top, BUT DO NOT STIR mixture.
- Baked for 45-48 minutes on the middle rack or until slightly golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cobbler rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve with ice cream, whipped cream or top it off with some milk!
If you don’t have access to fresh strawberries or if strawberries are out of season- don’t fret. You can totally make this with frozen strawberries or if you don’t have access, you can always substitute the strawberry mixture with canned strawberry filling as well.
Storing Fresh Strawberry Cobbler
- Wrap leftovers of strawberry cobbler with tin foil/plastic wrap or in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 or 4 days. This keeps the cobbler topping from getting too mushy as well or spoiling.
- Freeze baked cobbler for up to three months.
Reheating Cobbler
- To reheat cobbler, it is best to keep it in the fridge for 4-5 days. It should be removed from the refrigerator and allowed to come to room temperature before baking it at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until heated through.
- You could also pop a bowlful of this cobbler in the microwave for 20-40 seconds to get it warm and gooey!
