Basic Ingredients for the Perfect Brookie Bar Recipe
Brownies Recipe
- granulated sugar
- unsalted butter
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- egg
- vanilla extract
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt
- white chocolate chips or chunks
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
- butter
- granulated sugar
- brown sugar
- egg
- vanilla extract, optional
- all-purpose flour
- baking soda
- salt
- semi-sweet chocolate chips + mini chocolate chips or whatever you want to use.
How to Make the Best Brookie Bars
Brownies
- Place the sugar, butter, and cocoa in large, microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 20 second intervals until the butter is completely melted and stir together until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg until completely incorporated.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, optional.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, stirring together until smooth, then stir in white chocolate chips and set aside.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
- Melt the butter in a large microwave safe bowl for 30-45 seconds until melted. (If butter is too hot, let it cool just a bit).
- Stir in the sugars. Add vanilla and egg and mix well.
- Combine dry ingredients together and stir into the butter/sugar mixture and mix together.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
How to Add the Brownies and Chocolate Chip Dough Together In The Pan
- Scoop Cookie dough (about 2 tablespoon) into a parchment paper lined or sprayed with non-stick cooking spray prepared 9×13 pan, randomly in pan.
- Fill in the spaces with scoops of brownie dough.
- Just keep adding scoops of each dough until finished using dough up. Smush the cookie dough and brownie scoops down so they touch each other. Add some extra chocolate chips on top and sprinkles if you want to make it more celebratory!
Baking the Brookies
- Bake for 25-28 minutes. Remember it will continue to cook as it cools so be careful not to overbake. Check it at the 25 minute mark.
- Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack to finish cooling.
- Once cooled, cut brookies bars recipe into squares and serve. Store in airtight container.

Ingredients
Brownie Dough:
- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- Dash of Salt

- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips + 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or whatever you want to use.

These were very tasty. They were easy to make, they baked properly, and my boyfriend loved them!
I haven’t tried it, but this cookie dough will spread out if you did make cookies. But if you wanted to try it, an option could be, is to place the dough (s) in mini muffin tins or regular muffin tins to get cookie cup-like cookies. The dough is not chilled, so maybe if you tried chilling the dough it might work, but I would also add in more flour and maybe some baking powder to give them some structure, but I would have to experiment. If you try it and it works out, let us know.
