What is BisQuick?
BisQuick is a blend of flour, baking powder, salt and hydrogenated oil. By using Bisquick as a shortcut in this recipe, that’s 4 items less I don’t have to add into the recipe, so I’m down with that, homey! 🙂
There Are 3 BisQuick Types
Original, HeartSmart and now Gluten-free, which uses rice flour instead of regular flour. I used the Bisquick HeartSmart for this banana bread delight! I can’t tell the difference between HeartSmart and the regular mix and it’s the healthier option for us! But, feel free to use whichever fits your style of eating.
SSSSSHHHH….The world secret to the best BisQuick Chocolate Chip Strawberry Banana Bread starts with the ripe bananas.
The riper the bananas get, the more the banana flavor develops. That’s the starch converting to sugar. Using under-ripe bananas will result in a ‘blah’ bland flavor. Wait a few days for browned, speckled and overripe bananas to get the most bang out of your bananas for flavor and sweetness.
So, now let’s cover the chocolate chips and strawberries. When I tell you it’s good, ‘it’s good’! We all know that Banana & Chocolate go together like Chocolate & Peanut Butter, or Chocolate & Caramel, or Chocolate & Marshmallow….should I go on? Because I’m getting that vibe that chocolate goes with pretty much EVERYTHING! Hellooooo! 🙂
Hey wait…how about Chocolate & Strawberries, too? Absolutely, yes! The combination of the bananas, chocolate and strawberries is incredible. You need to try this!
