Thanks so much Kim!!!!
Hi Jade! No worries, no milk or cream in the actual pudding. It’s smooth, creamy, rich and decadent. 🙂
Hi Kim! I have one more question…so sorry! I just want to be sure I do this perfectly for our special anniversary dinner 🙂 so, its just, basically, eggs, chocolate and butter…correct? No milk like other cream pie fillings? So I’m curious about the texture….I’m guessing super yummy and dense and decadent?
Thanks…dumb questions I know, I just have a million things going and want to be sure I’m not just overlooking something big like a bunch of milk 🙂
Thanks again!!!
I’m excited for you Jade!! xo Thank you!!
Kim! Thank you so much!!! I’ll make it Friday or Sat to eat up Sunday! Super excited!! Thank you so much!!!
3 days in advance covered in saran wrap or freeze up to 2 months is good, sealed well! Sounds like you’re going to have some good yummies to celebrate! Happy Special Family Day to all!! xo
This pie looks amazing!
I have a question… I was going to make this with a chocolate cookie crust. So was curious how far ahead I can make this? On May 30th, 2021 my husband and I celebrate our 30th anniversary:) but our whole marriage its been something we also celebrate with our son..special family day. But my son loves chocolate and LOVES any sort of pie type thing, but not my husband. My husband likes vanilla or fruit or caramel so I’ve already planned to make him a caramel cake with a caramel Swiss buttercream. But wanted something decadent and dark chocolate for our son. Do to being out of work still and for so long, we can’t buy gifts 🙁 so I’m just hoping I can make a decent meal with a fun special dessert for each of them at least. This sounds wonderful! I have rheumatoid arthritis and lots of other health issues making movement difficult, so was hoping to make this a bit early, along with the caramel cake, so that I won’t be in too too much pain or too tired on our actual anniversary. But if it will get too hard or break down fast then I’ll make it closer to Sunday.
Thanks so much!!
I have been making this pie for a couple of years now. It is my son’s favorite. I actually split the recipe and do some unsweetened, and some white chocolate then swirl them. But I do cut back the sugar as this is very sweet otherwise.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it Patricia! That gluten free almond vanilla crust sounds AMAZING! 🙂 Thank you so much!!
I made this pie on Saturday and used a gluten free almond vanilla crust. It was AMAZING! The chocolate was so decadent and smooth.

From one Chocoholic to another, you are very welcome my dear! Thank you so much for favoriting this pie! 😀
OMG Best chocolate pie in our solar system! This was sinful. I’m not a cook, but it made me look great. I used about a cup of Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips (60% cacao) and it was SO GOOD. Thanks for what will be a favorite recipe.
Sharai that is awesome! That makes my day!! xoxo
I made this pie for my birthday this weekend, it is delicious! Smooth and rich, it took longer to make than I anticipated with the wait time for things to cool, but this will be my go to chocolate pie recipe from now on!
Thank you Teresa! Nothing like chocolate pie! 🙂
