In making these festive Easy Brownie Christmas Tree Treats, you can make a special holiday memory that will last for years to come, especially when you kids help. Let them pop on the sprinkles, and you create a yummy and easy dessert for all ages.
I decorated mine with an assortment of different sprinkles for each of the tree designs to give you an idea this is just the start of what you can come up! Do them all different, all the same or split them up like I did, 4 different styles, white, pink, green and light turquoise with coordinating sprinkles!
It’s cutting the brownie trees that might be your biggest challenge, so check out the tutorial picture! I got 14 nice-sized brownies, and then there were brownie scraps leftover! YESSS! Brownies are my favorite dessert in the whole world!

- Baked brownies – You can either make your favorite homemade brownie recipe you can make boxed brownies for a 9×13 pan size.
- Buttercream Frosting – Use homemade buttercream frosting or store-bought frosting, our homemade frosting recipe is super easy!
- Food coloring for the frosting
- Festive Christmas sprinkles or candies – Use whatever sprinkles you think would make the best edible Christmas tree decorations for you cute little trees!
How to Make Christmas Tree Brownies
- Make your homemade brownies or boxed brownies and let them cool completely. Once they are cooled, cut them into triangles, whatever size you want, below is a diagram how I cut mine. Make the frosting or use store bought frosting for the next step
Buttercream Frosting Recipe & Decorating
- powdered sugar
- unsalted butter, room temperature
- vanilla extract
- heavy whipping cream or milk of choice
- salt
- food coloring
- Sprinkles
How to Make Homemade Buttercream Frosting for Christmas Tree Brownie Treats
- Whip the butter about a minute using a hand or stand mixer.
- Add in the confectioner’s sugar in several batches beating on low after each addition. Scrape the bowl down and repeat the process.
- Add a tablespoon of the cream while mixing on low then add the vanilla.
- Beat until you have an even, fluffy consistency. You can add more cream or milk if desired for a thinner consistency.
- Color the frosting if desired, using food coloring.
How to Decorate Christmas Tree Brownies
- Frost brownies with an offset spatula or if you want to get fancy, use a star shaped tip with a pastry bag and start at the top of the brownie and do zig zig back and forth across the brownies all the way down to the bottom.
- Add sprinkles or candies after doing a few, as the frosting will start drying and that way the sprinkles/candies will stick to the frosting.
- Once they are decorated, let the frosting firm up and then place the brownie trees in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.

- Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper and spray with non stick cooking spray. Make your brownies and let them cool completely. Once they are cooled, cut them into triangles, whatever size you want, below is a diagram how I cut mine.
