Seriously, I love recipes that are quick and easy. Does it look like I took hours to make this? Yup…How did I do this?
I used frozen puff pastry! (I didn’t actually make it!) That’s why this is easy! YAY! *feeling smuggish* 🙂 By using the puff pastry, this galette tastes just like an apple strudel!
Ingredients You Need For Caramel Apple Puff Pastry Galette
Caramel Apple Galette
- puff pastry – 2 puff pastry sheets or make one 1 large sheet to make 1 or 2 galettes
- brown sugar
- granulated sugar
- all-purpose flour
- lemon juice
- roasted cinnamon or regular cinnamon
- 3-4 large apples peeled, thinly sliced, firm apple like Granny Smith, honey crisp, pink lady or Gala apples
- egg wash
- granulated sugar or coarse sugar, I used a coarse vanilla sugar
Finishing Touches
- Caramel sauce
- pecans or walnuts, chopped
- Ice cream, optional
How to Make this Easy Caramel Apple Puff Pastry Galette
Apple Galette recipe
- Preheat oven 375° F.
- Line cookie sheet with baking parchment paper.
- Roll 1 puff pastry out into a 10″ square, if you want 2 galettes, use both puff pastry sheet in package for each galette and place on cookie sheet.
- Add 1 tablespoon sugar, ⅓ cup brown sugar, lemon juice, flour, chopped pecans and cinnamon to the apple slices and mix gently.
- Pile the apple filling in the center of the puff pastry leaving 2″ around the edge free.
- Pull up the outside edge of the pastry, over the outer edge of the apples, leaving the center part uncovered, folding the pastry as needed and pinching together gatherings of pastry.
- Beat the egg. Brush it on the pastry. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar or coarse sugar.
- Bake 35-40 minutes, until the apples are soft and the pastry is golden brown. If you need to bake more, add tin foil loosely on top of galette (s) and bake 5-10 minutes more.
- Remove galette (s) from oven! Serve warm or cold. Serves 4-6.
Finishing Touches
- Add a drizzle or 10 of salted caramel or any kind of caramel sauce over the top, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and add some chopped pecans to your heart’s desire. We love the idea of salted caramel apple galette, don’t you?

Easy Caramel Apple Puff Pastry Galette
Ingredients
- 1 package frozen butter puff pastry thawed, use, 1 or 2 sheets depending on how many galettes you want or if you want a big galette use 2 sheets
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 ½ Tbsp flour
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice optional
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp roasted cinnamon or regular cinnamon
- 3-4 large apples peeled and thinly sliced, firm apple like Granny Smiths or Galas
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
Finishing Touches
- caramel sauce or salted caramel sauce
- optional pecans or walnuts, chopped
- optional Ice cream optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven 375° F.
- Line cookie sheet with baking parchment paper.

- Add 1 Tbsp sugar, 1/3 cup brown sugar, flour, chopped pecans and cinnamon to the apple slices and mix gently.
- Pile the apple filling in the center of the puff pastry leaving 2" around the edge free.
- Pull up the outside edge of the pastry, over the outer edge of the apples, leaving the center part uncovered, folding the pastry as needed and pinching together gatherings of pastry.
- Beat the egg. Brush it on the pastry. Sprinkle with 1 tsp sugar or some coarse sugar
- Bake 40-45 minutes, until the apples are soft and the pastry is golden. If apples need to cook more, place some tin foil loosely on top of the pastry so the apples cook through more.
- Add drizzles of caramel over the top, a scoop of ice cream, and chopped pecans, walnuts or toffee bits to your hearts desire.
- Serve warm or cold. Serves 4-6.
