- 1 ¼ cup rolled or quick oats use gluten-free oats if wanting gluten free option
- ⅓ cup pecans or walnuts chopped, optional
- ⅔ cup brown sugar use ½ cup if you want less sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg optional
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons cold butter, cut into cubes or you can use oil
