- 1 boxed red velvet or chocolate cake mix + ingredients called out to make cake (eggs, oil, water)
- 1 tub Chocolate Frosting – depending how thick you like your frosting, you may want 2 tubs
- Crushed Oreos
- Mini Loaf Pans with lids
- Mini Dessert Shovels
How to Make the Graveyard Mini Dirt Cakes
Prepping the Cake
- Preheat oven 350 F & make the cake mix according to box cake instructions.
- Spray mini loaf pans with non-stick cooking spray and pour cake batter 2/3rds full and place on a large baking sheet. (If you overfill and cakes bake over the top, and you want to level the cakes more, just take a sharp knife and cut the excess cake off to make the cakes level.)
- Bake mini cakes for 18-25 minutes and let cool in pans.
Decorating the Graveyard Mini Dirt Cakes
- Once the cakes are cooled, frost the mini cakes with an offset spatula or knife.
- Add the crushed Oreos on top.You can use a food processor, or you can place the Oreos in a plastic bag and go over them with a rolling pin until they turn into crumbs.
