How to Store Peach Dumplings with Crescent Rolls

  • If you have any leftovers (which is unlikely because these are so delicious!), store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They’ll keep well for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, simply pop them in the microwave for a few seconds until warmed through. You can also reheat them in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes to maintain their crispy texture.

More Variations

  • Apple Crescent Dumplings: Substitute peaches with apple slices for a classic twist. Granny Smith apples work particularly well due to their tartness, which balances the sweetness of the sugar and butter mixture.
  • Berry Crescent Dumplings: Try using fresh or frozen berries like blueberries or raspberries. These add a burst of tartness and color to the dessert.
  • spiced Peach Dumplings: Add a pinch of nutmeg or ginger to the cinnamon-sugar mixture for a spiced variation that brings a little warmth to every bite.
  • Pineapple Crescent Dumplings: Swap the peaches for pineapple chunks for a tropical twist. The sweet and tangy flavor of pineapple pairs wonderfully with the buttery dough.
  • Cherry Almond Dumplings: Replace peaches with cherry pie filling and add a few drops of almond extract to the butter mixture. This creates a delicious cherry-almond flavor that’s hard to resist.
  • Caramel Pecan Dumplings: Top the peach crescent dumplings with chopped pecans and a drizzle of caramel sauce before baking. The nuts add a delightful crunch, and the caramel adds a rich sweetness.

FAQs

  • Can I use different types of dough?
Yes, you can experiment with different types of dough like puff pastry or pie crust. Just be mindful of cooking times, as these doughs may require adjustments.
  • What can I use instead of soda?
If you prefer not to use soda, you can substitute it with a mixture of water and a tablespoon of lemon juice or orange juice. This will still give you the moisture needed for the sauce without the carbonation.
  • Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes, you can prepare the dumplings and store them covered in the refrigerator for up to a day before baking. When you’re ready to bake, just pour the soda around the edges and follow the rest of the baking instructions.
  • Can I freeze the dumplings?
While the dumplings are best enjoyed fresh, you can freeze them before baking. Wrap each dumpling tightly in plastic wrap and place them in a freezer-safe bag. When ready to bake, thaw in the refrigerator and bake as directed.
  • Can I add extra spices or flavors?
Absolutely! Feel free to add extra spices like nutmeg or allspice, or even a splash of vanilla or almond extract to the butter mixture for an added depth of flavor to this peach dumpling recipe.
