Ingredients You’ll Need
- chocolate chips (white, milk or dark chocolate chips can be used)
- sweetened condensed milk
- unsalted butter
- crushed peppermint candy
- peppermint extract or vanilla extract
- mini marshmallows
How to Make Peppermint Marshmallow Fudge
- Line an 8X8 pan with wax or parchment paper, set aside.
- Super Easy Microwave Method: Melt chocolate and butter in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between until chocolate mixture is melted, approx 2 minutes. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir to combine. Add ½ of the crushed peppermint (reserve some for top), peppermint extract or vanilla extract and marshmallows if desired. Top with remaining crushed peppermint candy.
- Stove-top Method: Melt chocolate, butter, and condensed milk in a double broiler (or sauce pan on top of another pan of simmering water) over medium heat; stirring constantly until fully melted. Remove from heat. Add ½ of the crushed peppermint (reserve some for top), peppermint extract or vanilla extract and marshmallows if desired. Top with remaining crushed peppermint candy.
- Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Cut into squares and serve.
How to Cut the Fudge Easier
- To cut peppermint fudge with marshmallows, try warming your knife in hot water between cuts to keep it the marshmallow from sticking.
- Wipe the hot knife dry before cutting into the fudge, then wipe the knife clean between cuts.
If You’re a Peppermint Freak
Of course, in this fudge, you can amp up the peppermint vibe and add some peppermint extract and even more crushed & chopped peppermint. But, don’t go crazy with the peppermint extract. It can overwhelm. I normally add vanilla extract instead, because I’m always afraid of the peppermint extract taking over and there’s a lot of peppermint flavor in the crushed peppermint.
But if you’re a peppermint freak, you might see differently. 😉

Chocolate and peppermint are a perfect holiday marriage of flavours! While I prefer old-fashioned fudge most of the times (As it’s not as sweet), this version looks irresistible, too!
