How to Make Pumpkin Oreo Truffles
- Crush the Oreos (with filling) in a food processor or place in a zip-lock bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- Add the cream cheese and pulse or mix with rubber spatula until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop the mixture into balls about 1-inch in diameter – I like to use cookie scoop. (I slightly flattened truffles to make them look more like pumpkins.)
- Place the cookie balls in the freezer until well chilled, at least 15 minutes to an hour.
- Melt orange candy melts in microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval until melts are smooth and creamy.
- Remove truffles from freezer and dip in melted orange melts. Place on parchment-lined baking sheet and add your pumpkin stem.
- Let chocolate set, refrigerate and enjoy!
How to Dip the Oreo Pumpkin Truffle Balls
- Set the Oreo ball on a fork and lower it into the melted chocolate.
- Use a second fork or spoon to make sure the ball is completely coated.
- Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl before placing the dipped truffle onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Storing Oreo Truffles
- Fridge: Keep candy truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Oreo truffles will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks in an airtight container.
- Freezer: These Thanksgiving Oreo truffle treats can be frozen for up to three months sealed in an airtight container. This Oreo truffle recipe can be stored in the freezer for up to three months.
Oreo Tips
- This easy no bake pumpkin truffle recipe will work with regular Oreos, Pumpkin Spice Oreos or Golden Oreos. You can also use any variety of generic sandwich cookies as well.
- Store truffles in the fridge so that the candy coating doesn’t get too warm or soft until you’re ready to serve them or gift them.
- Make sure to freeze truffles before coating them with chocolate. Otherwise they will be too gooey and may fall apart when you try dipping them.
- Melt orange candy melts in microwave for 1 minute, stir, then microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval until melts are smooth and creamy. If the chocolate is too thick, you can add a teaspoon of vegetable oil to the chocolate to thin it a bit.
- For easy dipping – Set the Oreo ball on a fork and lower it into the melted chocolate. Use a second fork or spoon to make sure the ball is completely coated. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl before placing the dipped truffle onto the parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
