Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Peach Dump Cake
Add the peaches and the syrup from the cans into the pan and spread out evenly. If using fresh chopped peaches, mix them with ¼ - ½ cup of sugar and spread out on bottom of pan evenly.
Pour the dry cake mix over the peach mixture, patting into an even layer using your hands or a spoon.
Layer the sliced butter evenly over the top of the cake mix, making sure to get in the corners of the cake.
If adding pecans, add them on top of the cake. ( I did ½ with pecans and ½ without.)
Bake until the top of the cake is golden brown and the peach mixture is bubbly, about 45 - 50 minutes.
Vanilla Glaze
If you want to add a glaze on top, mix together ½ cup of powdered sugar and a little heavy cream or milk to get a nice glaze consistency. Pour it into a ziplock bag and snip an end and pipe some criss-cross lines on top, if desired.
Serve warm, with vanilla ice cream for the ultimate treat!
