Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper, if desired for easy removal, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Using an electric mixer beat the butter and sugars together until they are combined together well.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla and continue beating until combined.
  • Add the baking soda, salt and flour to the wet mixture and start mixing slowly, then increasing to medium speed until the cookie dough comes together.
  • Add in the chocolate chips and m&m’s and distribute throughout the cookie dough with mixer or fold in if you prefer that method.
  • Scoop the dough out into your prepared baking pan. Using a spatula or your hands spread and press the dough evenly into the pan. If you want to add some extra m&m’s to the top, for extra color, go ahead and add them, without pressing them into the cookie dough.
  • Once the dough is evenly pressed into the pan, sprinkle the M&Ms evenly over the top pressing them down into the dough. Don’t press them too hard, you don’t want them to disappear, just to stick.
  • Bake at 350°anywhere from 20-35 minutes. If you want gooey, chewy bars, bake the lesser time, but also do not overbake these bars, because they will continue to bake after you take them out of the oven. Just make sure the top is set, and not wet looking when you take them out. If you want them a golden brown, go for the 30-35 minute range.
  • Allow the bars in the pan to cool on a wire rack.
  • Cut the bars, serve & enjoy!
